Leadership Academy

Welcome

If you have a desire from God to lead in church or in life, then this is for you.

Your time in the Academy will be spent following a weekly schedule of both classroom learning, and working within the different areas of church ministry.

In our tailored classes, staff development times, and study sessions, you will have the opportunity to learn, to think and be challenged, and to grow, as our fantastic tutors teach and direct your learning. Alongside this, you will also be part of a church department of your choice, where you can focus on improving your practical ministry talents and leadership skills. We also include a short-term mission trip for all our academy students whereby you can put your knowledge, experience and talents to use in a setting outside
of your normal environment.Throughout the year you will work towards an ILM Level 3 Certificate in Leadership and Management, and mentors/coaches will be assigned to assist your development.

OUR AIMS

KNOW SCRIPTURE

We want you to know, believe and obey God’s word, so that in everything, you turn to it as the foundation, guide and authority in life and in ministry

We want you to actually lead and take ownership within a ministry in CFC.

ADULT MINISTRY

Our adult ministry stream is highly varied, and includes opportunities to be involved with our various sites (including newly planted congregations), roles within Sunday services, small groups, pastoral care and events.

KIDS & YOUTH

You can choose either to gain experience with half a year in kids and half a year in youth, or commit to one of those for the entire year. You will have opportunities to be involved with developing curriculum, relevant outreach projects, schools work, running programs and caring for our kids and young people.

MEDIA & TECH

Our media and tech departments do an amazing variety of work. You will have opportunities to be involved with projects which include photography, web design, social media, podcasts, video, sound, lighting and much more.

MISSION & COMPASSION

Here you will have opportunities to be involved with our local and international outreach projects, including involvement with things like social programs, care homes, asylum seekers, missions work and food banks and homework clubs.

WEEKLY RHYTHM

Our weekly rhythm is designed in such a way as to give each day a different dimension and flavour, where your time is used well and gives you a wide variety of church experience. We also aim to increase our accessibility by giving you space alongside your Academy time to earn an income and fulfil any other commitments you have.

MONDAY - STUDY & GROWTH

A mixture of classes, staff development times, corporate prayer and theory. This day is focused on learning and developing as an individual and follower of Jesus.

WEDNESDAY - MORNING STUDY, AFTERNOON PRACTICAL

The mornings are set aside for further classes and development, similar to Mondays. But in the afternoon you will be involved in hands-on ministry in your stream, putting into practice what you have learned.

EVENING - MINISTRY

Your stream will require you to be involved in ministry one evening per week, where you will help implement the programs and projects your department is involved in, helping you not just plan the ministry, but experience leading it.

SUNDAY MORNING/EVENING - MINISTRY

You will also be involved in your stream on a Sunday, either morning or evening, allowing you to lead in the most notable part of church life - the Sunday service.
